| A very rare 10 x 3ft roll out mat. Believed to be from an English country house, used for protecting the carpets from the incoming shooting party.
Made from sycamore and backed in canvas, the wood is beautifully constructed and fits neatly together when rolled out. In wonderful condition showing signs of wear in accordance with age. I have also been told that it possibly could have been a street performers mat. Both suggestions are equally possible |
